FIRST DAY, FIRST SHOW - CAT '10

Well to begin in the JamIstyle let me tell you we are the first one’s to bring to you the unveiling of the most hyped, nerve wracking exam for the year 2010 which is the ultimate aim of thousands of MBA aspirants me being one among them.

Out of personal curiosity as my CAT date nears and to bring to the notice of other such jam readers the on-goings at the CAT centers I had a real good discussion with one such guy who was to appear for CAT on the first day first slot on 27th Oct. Salman Merchant last year B’Com student of Hinduja college gave me his account of the story.

Firstly I asked him as to what made him appear on the first day itself to which he said that he didn’t want his morale to shake by hearing other’s experiences and feel all the more scared about the exam. He told me it being the first day challenges like technical glitches, getting tougher set among others could have possibly occurred. However he said that he had no such experience and on the contrary the paper was really good with verbal section being the easiest and geometry in the quant section being a cakewalk.

I asked him whether it was worthwhile to call the students 2hours before the exam schedule on which he said that the student’s photo and fingerprints are taken which takes time and besides the student can sit there calmly then to reach at the nth moment and panic.
Facilities like drinking water, washrooms, pouch for keeping cell phones and watches and a very co-operative staff are present. The only problem that occurred was that one computer was not getting loaded but the problem was taken care out within just few minutes. Overall on the first day the students were pleased with the paper and the facilities.

So all I have to say is that just keep the 3 D’s going in you that is devotion, dedication and determination. I am sure all the hardwork should pay you big dividends. All the very best for your preparations and rock the CAT.
