Purple '10

PURPLE’10 is a fiesta of MHSS College of Engineering which commenced on   3^rd March, 10 and went on till 12^th March, 10. This event was exclusively managed by the students of CSI, IEEE and SACE committee’s collectively. The overall events were distributed into three categories namely Cultural events, Sports and Technical events. The tagline of PURPLE’10 was The Saga of Evolution which was the theme of the event as a whole. The event witnessed a massive participation from around 100 plus colleges which included engineering as well as junior colleges.

        The events were segregated over different dates based upon their category. On 3^rd March took place the ‘BLOOD DONATION CAMPAIGN’ in collaboration with Nair hospital. MHSS students were successful in donating 334 bottles of blood. 4^th March kick started with the Inauguration and then from 4^th to 7^th March went on the Sports events.

This section included events such as Football, Basketball, Volleyball, Rink Football, Box cricket, Chess among others. On 8^th March was an event unheard of whereby different companies displayed their car models on the college campus. Along with this other events included Assemble-Dissemble, Take 2, BM Xtreme, Marathon maze and so on and so forth.

On 9^th March was scheduled the USP event “Robotics” and fun event “Paint Wars”. So also there was a Vedic Math’s workshop and Acting and dancing workshop by Alchemy. From 10^th March – 12^th March more emphasis was given to cultural events which included Group Dance, Talent Show and Rock Show.

     

Prestigious personalities seen at this event included Milind Deora, Sulbha Mantri of Sarabhai fame and Priyug Mantri of Gladrags fame. The event marked its end on 12^th March, 10 in a unique panache. The event was a grand success with a combination of brainstorming as well as fun events. The event observed an overwhelming response and managed to mark its end with high standards.
